The Many Academies Podcast is a forum for conversations about creating outside the limits of academic knowledge production. Each episode is a discussion with writers, thinkers, and scholars whose creative and transformative work affirms what it is possible to do outside these limits. In other words, although deeply engaged with theoretical and philosophical ideas that call into question what counts as “knowledge,” the podcast is grounded in the very real and material practices of its guests. In this way, it hopes to the loosen the hold of the idea that there is just one academy or one way of being in the academy. It highlights counter-conduct and ethical solidarities beyond fields and disciplines. Guests on the podcast not only think boldly about the ethos and possibility of writing in the humanities but they center their connections with others and the work of hospitality. The podcast is supported by grants from Swarthmore College and the Aydelotte Foundation and features the art of Jodie Riddex and music of Sebastian Bauer.
